I have been illustrating and painting since childhood and have done commissioned works since 1968 in New York City, upstate New York and Pennsylvania as well as in Phoenix Arizona and Lawton Oklahoma.

 

In 2001 I began to use the internet on a limited basis and with the help of my youngest daughter set up Ave Hurley Illustrations on an MSN group page to begin storing copies of some of my artworks to be able to show  to friends and family over the internet. I began travelling in 2002 through 2005 and seldom got online anywhere, but kept the site and also started one called "The Art Show" also on MSN groups where a dozen or so other artists joined and we kept some of our works there as a sample gallery for the public.

 

In 2005 I began devoting more time to my artwork and have been working hard creating new artworks, learning how to display them online and how to use digital art programs. I now do both hand paintings and digital paintings and have learned how to use various art programs and printers to be able to recreate my paintings and make quality prints of my artwork.

 

In 2007 I began selling my artworks online through Ebay with the username "avehurleyillustrations" and on Etsy.com as "avehurley" and several other art sites and galleries.

 

Seeing the upsurge in interest in ACEO's [Art Card Edition Originals] by Art Trading Card enthusiasts I began making a line of miniature paintings into collectors cards and successfully selling them primarily on Ebay and Etsy.

 

Now with new wide format art printers and mastering online digital art programming to do much of my work with I am now offering prints in sizes up to 13x19 inches  along with Certificates of Authenticity and closed editions as well as limited and open editions.
